Hi, I'm Neha.
Data Science Researcher
Currently, I'm working on a causal inference team at Duke (this one), building causal inference algorithms that use machine learning for fast, interpretable, accurate matching on observational data.
Previously, I worked at the United Nations Global Pulse Labs (linked here) as an AI and Data Science Research Fellow.
I am a graduate of Duke University's
MS in Economic Computation (MSEC).
Prior to my data science research career, I was a corporate software engineer, focused on backend platforms and infrastructure. I worked at Google for the Gmail backend tools and infra teams (summer intern),
and at FactSet, a financial analytics platform and data provider (2 years). I completed my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University's College of Engineering and Honoros College, with majors in Computer Science, Economics, and a minor in Mathematics.
Beyond my methodological causal inference and machine learning interests, my additional applied policy/technology-relevant interests are motivated by my personal background.
